About Us

Mary Cargill is a research librarian at Columbia University. She has written for DanceView since 1992 and is currently its New York correspondent; she also writes for Ballet Review and Dance magazine. She is Treasurer of the Dance Critics Association, and was co-chair of DCA's 2002 convention.

Nancy Dalva is the Senior Writer for 2wice Magazine, and has contributed to The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, DanceView, Dance Magazine, the International Encyclopedia of Dance, and Merce Cunningham: Dancing in Space and Time (Richard Kostelantz, ed.), among other publications. She is the author of Dance Ink: Photographs, and Merce Cunningham: Dance Ink Monograph No. 1.

Rita Felciano has been the Dance Critic for the San Francisco Bay Guardian since 1988 and Bay Area correspondent for DanceView and Dance Magazine. Her reviews, features and essays have been published by the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Ballet Review, Dance Now and Dance International.

Marc Haegeman is a dance writer and photographer based in Belgium. He is European correspondent for DanceView and writes the Russian Profile in Dance International (Vancouver). His reviews, features and interviews have also been published in Ballet2000 (Milan), Dance Now (London), Brolga (Australia), Nezavisimaya Gazeta (Moscow) and Attitude (New York). As photographer he contributed to Dance View, Dance International, Dance Magazine, Ballet2000, and several souvenir program books of Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet tours in Europe, Contributor to the Small Ballet Encyclopedia. George Jackson has written on dance for general publications (Washington Star, Washington Post, Times of London) and specialized magazines (including Dance Magazine, Ballet Review, DanceView, Dancing Times, ballettanz). He has spoken about dance on radio, television and at arts centers in North America, Europe and Asia. As a child he studied figure skating and, later, ballet.

Susan Reiter has written about dance iin New York since 1976. She contributes regularly to Newsday, the Los Angeles Times, Dance magazine, DanceView, and is the U.S. correspondent for Dance Australia.

Alexandra Tomalonis (Editor) is founder-editor of DanceView (a quarterly review of dance founded in 1979 as Washington DanceView) and Ballet Alert! (a bimonthly newsletter devoted to classical and neoclassical ballet founded in 1996). She has been a regular contributor to the Washington Post since 1979 and is currently Washington correspondent for Dance Magazine. Her reviews and features have appeared in Dance Now, Dance International, Ballet Review, The Guardian (U.K.), Teater Et, Politiken [Denmark], and other publications. She is the author of Henning Kronstam; Portrait of a Danish Dancer, published by the University Press of Florida, 2003.
